What powder coating is
Powder coating applies a dry powder electrostatically to prepared metal and then cures it to form a continuous coating. It is widely used on fabricated metalwork because it can provide a durable, consistent finish in a broad range of colours and textures.
If a component needs powder coating, it is useful to specify that when the fabrication is quoted. The finish can affect masking, threaded features, mating faces, handling and how the completed part is packed.
Specify the finished component
Colour is only part of the requirement. Tell Zeus if there are holes, earth points, threads, bearing surfaces, close-fitting interfaces or other areas that must remain free from coating. If the finish has to match existing equipment, include the colour reference where known.
For assemblies, explain whether components are coated before or after final assembly and identify any areas where the coating could interfere with fit.

Fabrication and finish in one enquiry
Where the job is a laser-cut and folded bracket, welded frame, cover, guard or other fabricated item, include the powder-coated finish in the same enquiry. Zeus can then quote the finished requirement and make sure the coating notes are considered with the drawing.
If you only know the colour visually, send a photograph and explain whether an exact colour match is required. A recognised colour reference is preferable where matching is important.
