Sheet-Metal Cones & Transition Pieces

Bespoke conical and transition-style fabrications for jobs where one diameter, profile or geometry must change into another — manufactured from customer drawings with formed sheet, welding and finishing considered together.

Large conical fabricated component made by Zeus

Custom geometry rather than catalogue sizes

Cones and transition pieces are normally defined by the equipment or duct, vessel, hopper or assembly they have to connect. Zeus quotes bespoke formed components from drawings, with the important inlet and outlet profiles, overall height, offsets, interfaces and material defined for the actual job.

Where the shape changes between rectangular, square, round or other profiles, include the complete geometry rather than only the two end sizes. A clear drawing is especially valuable for offset or asymmetric transition pieces.

Square-to-round, reducers and formed cone requirements

Common bespoke requirements include square-to-round transitions, reducers and formed cones. Where the geometry changes between profiles, the drawing should show both ends, the transition length, any offset and the connection details needed for the finished component.

For a quote, include both end profiles or diameters, overall height or length, any offset, material and thickness, flange or connection details, quantity and finish. If the part must mate to existing equipment, include that interface on the drawing.

Stainless TIG welding and visible finishes

Where stainless is specified, Zeus can consider the formed sheet together with TIG-welded seams and brushed, satin or polished finishing. If the weld or surrounding surface will remain visible, identify the appearance requirement at quotation stage rather than after fabrication.

What to include on the drawing

  • Top and bottom diameter or profile
  • Overall height or transition length
  • Any centreline offset or asymmetric faces
  • Material, grade and thickness where specified
  • Flanges, collars, bosses or mating details
  • Critical dimensions and tolerances
  • Weld and finish requirements
  • Quantity, required date and delivery postcode

For large or unusual transitions, send the complete surrounding assembly if that helps explain how the part must fit.

Genuine Zeus fabrication

The gallery shows genuine Zeus cone and transition work, including large conical sections, polished cones and round transition-style components. Exact material and end-use are not inferred where they are not documented.

Frequently asked questions

Can Zeus quote a square-to-round or offset transition from a drawing?

Yes. Send the end profiles, transition length, offsets, material, thickness, connection details and quantity. A full drawing is best for asymmetric or offset pieces.

Can formed cones be supplied as part of a welded assembly?

Yes. Send the complete assembly drawing where the cone or transition must connect to cylinders, flanges, frames or other fabricated parts.

Can stainless cone welds be polished or finished?

Where a stainless fabrication requires a brushed, satin or polished appearance, include the finish requirement when requesting the quote so welding and finishing can be considered together.

Send the requirement for a quote

Send the drawing or CAD file if available, principal dimensions, material and grade if specified, thickness, quantity, finish, required date and delivery postcode. If you do not yet have a drawing, send clear photographs or a sketch and explain the interfaces the fabrication must fit.

Zeus is based in Burnley and quotes suitable work across Lancashire, Blackburn, Manchester, Greater Manchester, the wider North West and further afield. Those named places are examples of coverage, not service boundaries.
